What’s in a matrix? Enter the world of linear systems as mathematician Dr. Tim Chartier shows how matrices open the door to a diverse array of topics, from creating a March Madness bracket, to analyzing a car’s aerodynamics, to rendering cinematic special effects.

Math Encounters is a public presentation series celebrating the spectacular world of mathematics and presented by the Simons Foundation and the National Museum of Mathematics.
