Music is a universal form of human expression that moves us in sublime and silly ways. When you hum a melody or tap a rhythm, complex mathematical patterns are created that your brain interprets as “music.” Discover the hidden mathematics of musical sound with Dr. Parag Chordia, former Director of the Music Intelligence Lab at Georgia Tech and current Chief Scientist at Smule, where he develops intelligent music algorithms that power music creation apps used by over 50 million people worldwide. Special introduction by public radio’s “Piano Puzzler” Bruce Adolphe, renowned composer and director of family concerts for the Chamber Music Society of Lincoln Center.
