The Museum of Mathematics is pleased to announce a special Family Fun workshop for parents and kids on Sunday, February 10, at 1 pm (rescheduled from its original time Friday evening Feb 8, due to inclement weather). Dr. Robert Fathauer, mathematical artist, rocket scientist, and father of two, will present “Coloring Cubes Creatively – The Art of Tessellated Polyhedra,” a creative, hands-on exploration of cubes, pyramids, and other 3-D shapes, as illustrated in his book Designing and Building Tessellated Polyhedra.

Dr. Fathauer, who specializes in tessellation designs, will guide families in the coloring, cutting, assembling, and gluing of fascinating and beautiful shapes, each one a unique work to be displayed and shared.  MoMath invites you to exercise both sides of your brain with an activity that combines mathematics and art. Dr. Fathauer’s book will be available for purchase in Additions, the shop at MoMath, and Dr. Fathauer will be available to sign books throughout the weekend (times to be announced). Admission is limited, so register soon for this not-to-be missed special event. This event is appropriate for kids ages 9 and up.

Please note that MoMath does not offer refunds for registration fees in the event of cancellation.
